In Saudi Arabia, wearing a safety belt is required on all roads and highways.
According to widely held beliefs, seat belt use reduces fatalities and injuries caused by road accidents. As part of the law, all drivers and front-seat passengers were required to wear seat belts when Saudi Arabia enacted a similar law on 5 December 2000.
